Road, pavement and boot mobility scooters

Most people come in knowing where they want to go. Not which scooter will get them there. That’s fine. It’s our job to help you work it out.

Road scooters are bigger and sturdier. They have larger wheels, suspension and lights and they’re legal on the road as well as the pavement. Boot scooters fold or split into parts so they fit in the car. They’re lighter and smaller, which suits shopping centres, days out and holidays.

Stock changes. If you want to see a particular model call us before you travel and we’ll check it’s on the floor. Ask in store or call us for a price.

Mobility scooters you can test drive in Atherstone

A scooter is a big decision. You should know how it feels before you pay for it. That’s why we keep them on the showroom floor instead of in a catalogue.

Come in any day we’re open. Sit on a few. Drive them round the floor and try the controls. Check you can get on and off easily and that the seat and tiller feel right. We’ll tell you honestly which one suits you, even if it’s not the most expensive one.

Bring whoever helps you at home. A son, daughter or partner can be a useful second opinion. We’re family run and we’ve been trading for over 10 years. There’s no pressure to buy on the day. When you’ve chosen we deliver it, put it together at your home and show you how to use it. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: delivery area and any charge]

Questions to ask before you buy a mobility scooter

Buying for a parent or a partner? These four questions are worth thinking about before you visit.

Where will the scooter be used?

Short trips on pavements, round the shops and in town suit a 4mph boot scooter. Longer trips, hills and rougher ground suit an 8mph road scooter with bigger wheels and suspension. Think about the trips you make in a normal week. Not the one big day out a year.

Does it need to go in the car?

If yes, you’ll want a boot scooter. Check who’ll be lifting it and how often. Some fold in one go. Others split into parts and the heaviest piece on some models is under 12kg. Try lifting it in the showroom before you decide.

Where will it be stored and charged?

Road scooters are bigger and need a garage, shed or space indoors. Many boot scooters have a battery that comes off, so you can charge it indoors and leave the scooter elsewhere. Check there’s a plug socket close to where it’ll live.

How far do you need to go on a charge?

Range depends on the battery, the weight on board, hills and the weather. The figures on a spec sheet are for good conditions. Tell us your usual trips and we’ll suggest a scooter with range to spare.
