Pavement mobility scooters
Smaller, lighter scooters for the shops, days out and holidays. Most fold or split so they go in the car. Come and try one in our Atherstone showroom.
Mon to Sat 9am to 5pm. Sun 10.30am to 4.30pm.
What is a pavement scooter?
A pavement scooter is a class 2 scooter. It has a top speed of 4mph and it’s made for pavements, shops and indoor spaces like shopping centres. It isn’t for use on the road.
The pavement scooters on our website are all boot scooters. They fold or come apart so you can take them with you in the car. That makes them a good fit if you want a scooter for trips out rather than for getting around every day from home.
Folding boot scooters
These fold down in one go. There’s nothing to take apart, so they’re quick to put away. The whole scooter is lifted as one piece, so check you or your helper can manage the weight.
Split apart boot scooters
These come apart into a few pieces. Each piece is lighter, so no single lift is too heavy. On some of our models the heaviest part is under 10kg. It takes a little longer to put back together.

Lifting a boot scooter into the car
This is the part people worry about most. Try it in the showroom before you buy. Here’s what we’ll go through with you.
If a partner, son or daughter will be doing the lifting, bring them along. They need to try it as well.
On most boot scooters the battery comes off. It’s lighter to lift without it and you can charge it indoors.
Folding scooters lift as one piece. Split scooters lift in parts. Ask us the weight of the heaviest piece on each one.
Check the size of your boot before you visit. [CLIENT TO CONFIRM: can customers bring their car to try it in the boot]
Choosing a pavement scooter in Atherstone
The right scooter comes down to how you’ll use it. These are the questions we’ll ask when you come in.
How far will you go?
Range depends on the battery, the weight on board, hills and the weather. Spec sheet figures are for good conditions. Tell us your usual trips and we’ll suggest one with range to spare.
Who is it for?
Each scooter has a weight limit. Some of ours take up to 19 stone and some up to 21 stone. Sit on it and check you can get on and off easily and reach the tiller.
